The facilities at Bourne Road have come a long way since their humble beginnings in the 1950’s. Recent years have seen considerable improvements and whilst we can be proud of what has been achieved, there is more to do to complement the newly extended premises.
The next phase of work consists of an agreed plan to convert the old changing area into a more spacious kitchen, extend the hall and install toilet facilities suitable for lettings and functions which meet regulations for men, women and children as well as providing disabled access.
As a community club, still operating within the Dartfordian tradition, we have much to offer and to attract local interest. Once this work is complete further income streams could be generated.
The overall project is expected to cost up to £110k with phase 1, the toilet block, around £65k. It is anticipated that the clubs will be able to raise around £30k through grants, and many members, friends, supporters and family have offered to contribute towards the remaining costs. A development account, controlled by the Trustees, has been opened and already stands at around £20k.
Therefore, we appeal to your generosity, so that generations of young people can benefit from these new facilities in the years ahead, in a safe, family orientated environment. Your support will be most welcome.
There are various ways in which this can be achieved. Please complete and return the section below if you, or any of your circle of friends, are prepared to contribute to this important phase of development.
