The Club has received the very sad news that Ron Marsh passed away earlier today.

Ron was a larger than life figure who first played for the club's 1st XV at the age of 18 in 1951, when matches were played at Central Park, Dartford. Ron went on to play for Dartfordians for 40 years and was the C XV captain for many years, as well as being captain of the Vets in a non-playing capacity.

Ron loved Dartfordians, was always very proud of the club's achievements, ensured new players were welcomed to the club in the true ethos of rugby and made many friends in France whilst organising Vets tours and making sure that long term friendships remained in palce.

Over the last few years Ron had been battling ill health, supported by his wife Vivien and many friends from Darts who kept in touch with them both in their home in France, particularly the Fez zoom calls and some of the Fez got out to see him just last week.

All at Dartfordians send their condolences to Vivien and those who knew Ron - he was a true Dartfordian and lover of all that the game of rugby union provided.

RiP Ron
